IW6‑Mod (Ghosts)
Required: You must own Call of Duty: Ghosts on Steam. If your Steam account doesn’t own it, the client will not work.
What you need
- A legitimate copy of Call of Duty: Ghosts on Steam.
- Windows PC with the game installed (default path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty Ghosts).
Install steps
- Download the AlterWare launcher from the official releases page: AlterWare Launcher (latest).
- Open your Ghosts game folder (see the default path above if you’re unsure).
- Place the launcher executable into that folder next to the game’s
.exe files.
- Run the launcher from inside the game folder and let it fetch and install the IW6‑Mod files.
- Use the launcher to start the game going forward (you can create a desktop shortcut to it).
Notes
- Steam must be running, and your account must own the game. The client relies on official ownership checks.
- Keep the launcher inside the game directory so it can find and manage the files correctly.
Troubleshooting
- If the game opens as stock Ghosts, make sure you used the launcher inside the Ghosts folder.
- If the launcher can’t detect the game, verify the folder path and that the launcher sits next to the game’s executables.
