H1‑Mod — AuroraMod

Required: You must own the game on Steam. If your Steam account doesn’t own it, the mod will not work.

Step 1 — Download H1‑Mod

  1. Go to the official releases page: AuroraMod H1‑Mod releases
  2. Download the newest version (topmost release). You’re looking for a file named like h1-mod.exe.

Step 2 — Put the file in the correct folder

  1. Find your game folder (the one that contains h1_mp64_ship.exe).
  2. Move h1-mod.exe into that exact folder. Do NOT place it in a subfolder.

Tip: If you see files like steam_api.dll and h1_sp64_ship.exe next to it, you are in the right place.

Step 3 — First run and updates

  1. Run h1-mod.exe.
  2. If an updater appears, press Yes/Accept to download everything it needs.
  3. Let it finish. Don’t close it early.

Step 4 — Launch the game

  • Start h1-mod.exe again after the updater completes.
  • If something fails, double‑check you put the file in the correct folder and that Steam owns the game on your account.

Troubleshooting

  • "Game not found" or similar — h1-mod.exe is probably in the wrong place. It must sit next to h1_mp64_ship.exe.
  • Still failing? Check the latest release notes on GitHub. Some systems need extra runtimes (like Visual C++ Redistributable).
